About The Event
The New England Christmas Collective is a group of great musicians playing some fun and festive music. Comprising of great musicians from across the area, this show is guaranteed to make you feel like you’re unwrapping presents on a white Christmas morning! We have some of the most prolific jazz musicians from across New England as a part of our group, spanning from local legends and nationally recognized composers, to some of New England’s hidden gems. You can be sure to recognize every song, maybe with some new twists, but still swingin’ away and full of joy!
Special Guest - Curt Dale Clark - Artistic Director of Maine State Music Theatre - will be joining us to sing some familiar Christmas songs.
Anthony Iovino is a recent graduate of the University of Southern Maine, and is extremely passionate in jazz music and music education. He is attending the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in the Fall of 2024, where he will be studying Jazz Pedagogy. Anthony is a regular guest and soloist of the Portland Jazz Orchestra, and is the lead trombone of the New Legacy Swing Band.
After he joined the Portland Jazz Orchestra for their performances of Duke Ellington’s The Nutcracker Suite, he realized the audience really connected with the warm, fuzzy, nostalgic feelings the Holiday Season brings.
It was then that he started planning how he could bring that feeling to the audience without being in the Holiday season. Now, after some hard thought and effort, we have this wonderful production for you!
Come join Anthony Iovino’s New England Christmas Collective for a cheery, joyful night of music. Ho-ho-hope to see you there!
