About The Event

Take a stroll down memory lane and enjoy a piece of our shared American Musical History with this enthralling show dedicated to the one and only Mr. Les Paul - The Godfather of the Electric Guitar and the inventor of "sound on sound" multi-track recording. Tom Doyle was Les Paul's guitar builder, fixer, soundman, close friend, and all around right-hand-man for over 45 years! Come listen to Tom perform the hits and tell stories about "The Master"… Firsthand accounts of what it was like to work with The musical genius for almost half a century. You'll be regaled and fascinated by the music, the stories, the secrets, and the behind the scenes look at one of America's Greatest Musical legends and innovators… Mr. Les Paul.

Tom Doyle’s guitar riffs are simply amazing, and his high speed finger picking make his one instrument sound like dozens. So many in The "Les Paul Entourage” still call Tom, “Tommy Eight Track”… because of his ability to deliver that amazing multi-track and layered sound with just one guitar! While Tom is making the music, his wife and stage partner Sandy, sounds eerily just like the inimitable Mary Ford herself… with that uncanny self-harmony that Les and Mary made so famous all those years ago.

History is funny sometimes... Often there's more legend, lore, hearsay, fiction, and spin than actual truth to certain stories as they get passed around over time. That's certainly the case with regard to the legacy of Mr. Les Paul - one of the most creative, ingenious, and important musicians and inventors of this or any other time. Even though Les is/was a recent figure in music history over the last millennium... the man, his guitars, his contribution to music, and his influence are covered in myth... mired in misinformation and laden with erroneous fable. One man was there, through it all... the ups and the downs, the good times and the bad, the major discoveries and the foibles - and that was Tom Doyle. Tom was Les' close friend, confidant, co-inventor, ear, sounding board, and fixer for all those decades.
