About The Event
Arthur Neilson returns with the Blues on Sunday Quartet!
Neilson, a NY Blues Hall of Fame member, has a rare weekend night off from Shemekia Copeland's 2024 Global Tour to appear at Cadenza on Saturday March 2nd. Neilson was a member of Cyndi Lauper's first national recording act, Blue Angel, he co-founded the Black Coffee Blues Band with Popa Chubby, and, for the past 25 years, he as been the lead guitarist and musical director for 4-time Grammy nominee and multiple-Blues Music Award winner Shemekia Copeland. His resume includes thousands of shows, appearances on main festival stages, the Dave Letterman Show and other broadcast television at home and abroad.
Autographed copies of his 3 solo CDs and the Black Coffee Blues Band CD with Black Coffee co-founder Popa Chubby will be available for sale at the Cadenza performance. Arthur last appeared with the Blues on Sunday Quartet in October 2022 and he will round out a foursome featuring regulars Nelson Checkoway on piano and organ, Kris Day on bass and Per Hanson on drums and harmonica.
Last fall's Blues on Sunday Quartet show featuring Diane Blue from Ronnie Earl's band was a sell-out so lock down your tickets early for this outstanding performance of blues standards and original material from Neilson and the Blues on Sunday crew!
