About The Event
Maine-based songwriter Stephanie Atkins returns to Cadenza for an intimate evening of acoustic music and storytelling. After a full-time career in professional acting, Steph shifted her creative focus to songwriting in 2017. She has since independently released two albums, Skinny Jean Bonfire (2019)—which led to an "Emerging Artist of the Year" recognition from the Maine Songwriters Association—and Promise Street (2021).
Her work has been featured locally in Maine Women’s Magazine, on WCLZ radio, and highlighted in the article "Press Play" by Amsel Ponti in the Portland Press Herald. In addition, this year, her songs have begun to get some consideration by Nashville's Music Row producers. A member of ASCAP and NSAI, Steph splits her time between writing and testing her contemporary folk and Americana material on stages from Maine to Nashville, including open mics at The Bluebird Cafe and Tennessee Brew Works, and writer's rounds at The Commodore.
